Here is NP_Rate, a rating system for your items. You can see it working at the Nucleus FAQ: http://faq.nucleuscms.org (enter an item and see the rating system at the end of the page).

The plugin places a form where visitors can rate your items from 0 to 10. Results are displayed with a star graphic plus count of votes and the score. here's a screenshot:

And here you can download the images used by the plugin (you can set the images dir in the plugin options).

Install instructions
Just instal lthe plugin and place this in your full template:
Code:
<%Rate%>

You can also make lists of Top Rated and Most Rated items. Use this in your skins to show 5 top rated / most rated items:
Code:
<%Rate(toprated,5)%>
<%Rate(mostrated,5)%>

get the code here at the Nucleus wiki:
http://wakka.xiffy.nl/Rate

enjoy! Very Happy

hehe. thanks.

I've just noticed a little bug *if* you use it on the short template, instead of the full template. The plugin was planned to be used at the Nucleus FAQ, in a full detailed template. But now it can be also be used in a short template (your main page or a list of items to be rated).

Get the fixed code here at the wiki: http://wakka.xiffy.nl/Rate

Very good, Moraes! Just one small remark: it appears to be possible to vote more than one time. No IP-check? Wink

Nice.

suggestion 1:
how about a text-only score option, so it could be used in the short template?
Something like:
Generic nucleus entry details wrote:

posted by Blah
on 11/14/2004
Category: General
Score: 6/10

suggestion 2:
Use the stars to score the item instead of the radio buttons?
So then you'd click on a grey star or yellow start to cast your vote.

Hey,
Good ideas!
They will be added to the next release, together with the options for IP/cookie checking. This was only a simple plugin made for the Nucleus FAQ. A full featured version will be available at the end of the weekend.

Very Happy

Hi Moraes,

What exactly do you mean by 'short' template? I implemented the Rate-variable in the footer-part of the template for the main page. This results in: a vote for 1 item = a vote for all items. Am I doing something wrong here?

PS: I have 10 items on the main page and I'm using Nucleus 3.0

'short template' is the template usually used in the main page, so it will be used several times in a page (one for each item).

"a vote for 1 item = a vote for all items" was fixed on version 0.2 (I think). this happened because the plugin was done first to work with 'one-item' pages (usually the ones using the 'full template'). Then I saw people could be interested in using it on the main page too, and made the fix.

Can you take a look and tell me the version you are using?

I'm using version 0.2, Moraes. I downloaded it today from the wiki...
For your info: I'm using Nucleus 3.0.
Could the fact that I inserted the variable in the footer section of the main template have something to do with it?
