hi everyone, my web host provides me a very small database (10mb) but a relative large regular space (200mb), so i was afraid that the database could be full someday if i post too many entries. 
This plugin can help to save space of database. it saves the items of the blog into text files. the plugin still maintains a item table in the database, just contain some necessary information that is useful to link to those txt files. 
it also gives you an option that can switch the plugin to an automatic backup which means you still use the database to hold the items but the plugin will automatically save backup files everytime they are changed. installation: 1.copy to plugin folder 2.change the 'save' folder's mode to 777 3.setup the plugin warning: since the plugin changed the way the blog stores data, it may cause problems with other plugins. for example, if you setup the NP_Smiley first, the emote icons will not be parsed. you need to install NP_KickDBLimitsAss before NP_Smiley 
while wrote this plugin, i thought that the plugin may not go well with the blog's search function, 'cause the data is not stored in the database. so i did some tests, it seems that the search engine only work with items' title. so it should be ok with my plugin. the search engine seems to be problematic originally! some keywords work but some don't www.billconan.vip.nease.net/download/kickDBLimitsAss.zip _________________ My MSN Space:http://spaces.msn.com/members/billconan/ |
