I want to create a simple contact / mail form with sendmail.php or some other function. Is there a simple and safe solution for this?

I understand that it is possible to send email via php in just a few lines. The safest way would NOT to allow the user to choose the address (think spam).

I think you are on the right track as I understand that you use sendmail... I did it with ASP once but it was a very long time ago.
