I assume that the contest ends 2400 30 June 2006 / 0000 01 July 2006

But is that 2400 GMT, UST, EST, WUT, WTF or ABC?

More seriously GMT+/-? where ? is the answer - if you would be so kind.

I hope so I'm at GMT-0

Although midnight in every country of the world should have passed at GMT+12...

Sorry guys! I have been away with exams and study and did not have internet access. Embarassed

Skins contest ends at the end of Friday, 30 June 2006, GMT time (to be fair). So it's about 1 pm GMT on Friday, 30 June now, so there's a couple more hours to get your entries in! After that, I will be taking down the submission form and we'll start getting the entries up.

OK, cool.

Got number three in but number four will have to wait for next years competition.

By the way, how many entries were there?

This being a first year contest, we weren't too sure about what the response was going to be like and we have been somewhat disorganized with publicity so entries have been rather low when compared to the prize pool (which we've received a rather LARGE number of donations towards, a lot more than expected).

I estimate Division A will end up having about 20 unique entries and Divison B with about 10 unique entries. Whether all of them will meet the standards remains to be seen (I confess I haven't reviewed the entries yet, it's something I will do tomorrow after closing the submission form).

I may not be able to close the submission form right on the dot, so I'm going to say that any entries that are received in the contest email inbox via the submission form before 23:59 GMT Friday, 30 June 2006 will be included. Any entries that get to the inbox after that time will not be included in this year's contest, but can be entered again next year.

I am disappointed with myself and _some_ of the entries.
Some of them, and only a real small percentage, are just small adaptations of existing designs.
I really couldn't get my time together to submit anything, so I can't complain about those that actually bothered.
BUT - I do admire all those that did enter.
One thing that I think is unclear, to me anyway, what is the judging criteria?
I said that some are small adaptations of existing designs but I'm looking at a purely visual angle. Is the coding and it's implementation taken into account as well?
What might get lost is that an entry might not really look any different than current skins but the way it's implemented might be.
