Build from v0.9, I add some new features:
- better item rendering in email that works w/ other plugins (ie NP_Smiley, NP_PopupImageNetPBM)
- remove CSS from email and preview
- email and title template (change from mailtoafriend/mailfriend.template)
- add return-path in email (user suggested it is needed for some cases)

see http://edmondhui.homeip.net/nudn/item/717

Please try it and report whether this new version break something or helps those who were struck in the past.

cheers,

Would it be possible to update this plugin with the event_PreItem function (I hope I said it right, I'm not a programmer)?
The reason I ask this is because off the discussion here:

For v1.2, we are already calling PreItem event...... It's work for NP_Smiley to me.

Thanks, Admun! Appearantly you update so fast that I didn't notice that I was way behind with my 0.9 version. I'll give it a try. Cool

Hi Admun,

I have installed MailToAFriend 1.2, and adapted the mailfriend.css from my skin's css. Now, when I create a MailTo, the HTML in the pop up looks OK, following the css, but at the 'receiving end' all formatting is 'gone', and returned to 'regular' HTML.
Any idea what's wrong? try at my site (see signature)

With v.0.9 from the wiki, there were other errors (item titel repeated, first with hyperlink to the item, then without), but the received e-mails were OK from a css viewpoint.

The mail never refer to the CSS, I believed...... I will looked at 0.9 again to see what I missed... I think it need to refer to the CSS file in the mail.....

Hi admun,

I see no difference from 1.2. Sad Preview pop up looks OK (following css, inlcuding links etc.), received e-mail is default html, black on white, hyperlinks blue, standard mail reader font.

The 0.9 received mails followed css settings (font type, colour, links, etc.). There were just other errors (double title, etc.), but the style was OK.

Found the problem.... my mistake on the template.

Please download again and it hope it works now...... the email template is missing a <div class="Mailfrienditem">

I can't seem to test it since somehow <html> header code were stripped..... or it's still broken without I noticed.....
